Get Ready for Primaries

Candidates

Through the Neighborhood Caucus System, delegates are chosen by their neighbors to research each of the candidates running and choose who they feel is the best one based on his or her principles, qualifications, priorities, and character, rather than being chosen based on name recognition.

Convention candidates are those that have been elected with 60% or more support after being vetted by delegates, who spend an average of 90+ hours researching each of the candidates. If there was not a clear winner at the Convention, a Candidate must receive at least 40% delegate support to continue to the Republican Primary, and is still considered a Convention Candidate.

Non-Convention Candidates were vetted by your neighborhood delegates, but were not chosen for one reason or another. These candidates have elected to continue with their race through the signature gathering process, and will be on the ballot at the Primary.

If you have questions on who your neighborhood delegate voted for and why, we encourage you find out which precinct you are in, and then contact them. That’s what the Neighborhood Caucus System is for!
